I only had one night here, but it was great, the staff were really friendly, my room was warm, the bed divine, everything was perfect. I'm a clean freak, so for me to be impressed is saying something! I will definitely go back, it's a great location for the airport, without the noise of the planes. Very impressed, and would highly recommend to others.

Only one thing negative, but nothing to complain about at all, the security light was outside my room, so the room wasn't dark. But I slept really well it didn't bother me at all, but for anyone who prefers total black out shout make this request on booking.

The staff were very welcoming and helpful and the room was very nice.

Excellent staff, lovely atmosphere and food and ideally located near the airport.

The walls are wafer thin and when other guests choose to watch tv then unfortunately you have to listen to this. The bed linens smell of whatever they have been washed in and are very itchy, all in all difficult to get any sleep.

Excellent friendly and accommodating staff, fantastic reno'd rooms with an awesome shower. Meals excellent, ample parking, sleepy little town on wonderful back roads (if you want to get off the hwy)..

Bags and steep steps (wasn't a problem for us but could be for others - saying that staff offered to help).... so nothing I didn't like - great place.

Stayed here the night before flying from Stansted. Fabulous location, food, and room would definitely stay again. Much more comfortable way to start a holiday than the 'factory' style hotel and park nearer the airport. The cost of B&B here and then long stay parking at Stansted worked out no more expensive than the 'package' style hotel and parking. Would recommend the Cricketers Arms to anyone.

the staff were really helpful and friendly. The setting is lovely and quiet and was perfect for a getaway from the city.

Food isn't served after 6.30pm. I didn't pick up on that till later, and had to drive a fair distance to get dinner. It would be worth reminding guests of this when they book in.

The Cricketers Arms at Rickling Green has a wonderful setting, on the village green it's a quintessentially English. The pub itself is a comfortable mix of contemporary and traditional; wooden beams blend with tub chairs. The restaurant and bar menu is good and the shared platter boards as a starter are a must. The range of wines and beers was excellent, and the pub is clearly popular with locals as well as visitors. The decor and furnishings are a bit "lived in", although our room was nicely decorated in contemporary style. Breakfast was included, which is a good thing because it was a bit average. Throughout our stay all the staff were great. Friendly, responsive and happy to help with anything they could.

The furnishings in the public areas are looking a bit worn (I guess it is a popular venue) and the carpet in our room could have been fresher. Similarly the entrance from the car park looked like it could do with a good spring clean. We were a bit disappointed to have been given a ground floor room (Room 1) by the rear service entrance. It was a bit dark and dingy so we left the ceiling lights on for a bit of cheer. If I booked again I'd make sure we got a first floor room, preferrably looking out over the front of the pub to the cricket pitch on the green. It would have made all the difference to our perception of the pub and our stay.

definately the location and the staff was mega friendly and professional. lovely room, very comfortable and nice big bed.

The only problem was the sausage was undercooked and I couldnt eat it, and someone on another table sent theirs back too. This is not a complaint, otherwise it was perfect.

Loved the location, was everything I had expected when arriving, including the cricket match on the green outside

The lady who appeared to be the owner or manager was very unprofessional indeed, being very curt and abrupt with the staff in front of customers. She gave the impression that it was a chore to have us staying there, in fact the first sentence included telling us what time we had to check out. We asked if we needed to book a table for dinner and she was put out saying she was very busy. The girls working for her were fine but appeared scared of her and her bullying nature. Such a disappointment as its a lovely building in a lovely village.

The staff were extremely helpful and went out of their way to help us, calling taxi's, arranging early check-in as we were attending a wedding. The rooms were alot more than we expected, rustic with a modern feel with flat screen tv's and en-suite bathroom. The best part about our stay was the bed, it has got to be the most comfortable bed we have ever stayed in! would definitely recommend and stay again, thank you to all the staff!

The room was excellant, very nice location. Food in the bar/restaurant was good. Staff very helpful.

A bit dissapointed with breakfast. Poached eggs on toast were not the best, i'm afraid.

Upon arrival we found our booking had not been made (not the hotels fault but booking agent) the staff were very helpful and apologised we were then upgraded with no extra cost. We were suprised at how nice the rooms were and was not expecting them to be as good. Breakfast was not included but very reasonable. All memebers of the staff were very friendly and helpful. Overall a good experience
